Welcome to GMCS, Great Missenden Choral Society.
Great Missenden Choral Society (GMCS) is a vibrant amateur choir of around 60 singers based in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. We perform two concerts each year at the beautiful parish church of St Peter and St Paul, showcasing a diverse repertoire that spans from choral masterpieces to lesser-known and contemporary works.
We take pride in delivering high-quality performances, collaborating with outstanding professional soloists and orchestral musicians. As a friendly and welcoming society, we play a vital role in the musical life of Great Missenden and its surrounding communities.

Masterpieces by Bach & Handel

Great Missenden Choral Society invite you to join them for some glorious but
rarely heard baroque masterpieces by Bach and Handel. The Choir will be
joined by vocal soloists from the Royal Academy of Music and accompanied on
period instruments by The Cassiobury Players, who will bathe the music in the
soft glow of violins and the splendidly rich sound of ancient oboes.
They will perform two of J.S. Bach’s most inspiring Cantatas (BWV 72 and 111)
conducted by Music Director Alex Flood, along with Handel’s characterful and
lively anthem Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered. The programme
concludes with Bach’s sparklingly joyous and energetic Mass in G major.

Singing with GMCS is both enjoyable and deeply rewarding. There’s nothing quite like the experience of performing alongside an orchestra and professional soloists in the beautiful church of St Peter and St Paul, surrounded by a large and appreciative audience.
