The National
Association of Music Societies, now known as Making Music, to which Great Missenden Choral Society is
affiliated, represents and supports amateur choirs, orchestras and music
promoters of all kinds throughout the United Kingdom. It provides a
comprehensive range of artistic and administrative services and training
opportunities and fulfils a lobbying and advocacy role for members. The 1,650
member groups represent over 138,000 musicians and music lovers, present
8,093 concerts in a typical year to a total audience of 1.6 million, and
spend just under £8.9 million on professional artists and £916,500 with music
