John Cotterill’s last concert with us

At the end of the year, after almost 25 years as its esteemed music director, John Cotterill retires and hands over the baton to the much sought-after composer, conductor and organist, Dr. Alex Flood, whose services GMCS is delighted to have secured and who recently relocated to nearby Hyde Heath. For his valedictory concert with the choir on 14th December, John Cotterill will host a specially planned workshop before conducting the epic Christmas Oratorio by J.S.Bach, but in the meantime there will be some fun and fund-raising that is open to all.

Do Join Us

Are you local? A keen singer? Free on Monday evenings?

Come and join us!

GMCS is a friendly choir of around seventy keen amateur choral singers. We rehearse on Monday evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms for concerts in December and April.

Our repertoire includes a wide range of classic and contemporary choral works. Our Christmas concert this year is Bach’s Christmas Oratorio.

Please do come and listen in at one of our rehearsals on Mondays at 7.45pm in the Oldham Hall, Church Street, Great Missenden. If you wish, you can phone Suzanne Bryden (01494 718521) beforehand or any of the others on the Contact Us page. We welcome singers of all ages and we do have some bursaries available for young singers between the ages of 16 and 25, to cover their membership fees.

You can find more information about the choir, its history and opportunities to join us as a singer or a Friend, elsewhere on our website.
