Welcome to GMCS, Great Missenden Choral Society.

Choir Easter 2014

GMCS is an amateur Choir of about 70 singers, based in Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire. We give two concerts a year, in the local parish church of St Peter and St Paul. Our repertoire ranges widely from the great choral masterpieces to lesser known works. We pride ourselves on high standards of performance, by the Choir and St John’s Chamber Orchestra, and by excellent professional soloists. We are a friendly and welcoming Society. The Choir is an important part of the musical life of Great Missenden and the surrounding area.

Calling all singers – Tenors especially

Singing with GMCS is enjoyable and rewarding. Performing with an orchestra and professional soloists in the lovely church of St Peter and St Paul to a large and appreciative audience is a pleasure not to be forgotten. We welcome new singers in all voices, especially tenors, with bursaries available for those aged 16-25. After attending a number of rehearsals we invite new members to a short informal audition with the Music Director. If you might like to join us, please contact our Secretary Amanda Brown on 01494 863650 (email: amanda@kenbrownarchitect.com). Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7.45pm in the Oldham Hall in Great Missenden, except May to August.

New Music Director / Conductor

Upon completing his 25th season in April 2020, John Cotterill is to step down as Music Director/Conductor of this sociable 70-member all-age choir which rehearses and performs (with professional soloists and orchestra) in Great Missenden and his successor is now sought.
