Welcome to GMCS, Great Missenden Choral Society.
GMCS is an amateur Choir of about 70 singers, based in Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire. We give two concerts a year, in the local parish church of St Peter and St Paul. Our repertoire ranges widely from the great choral masterpieces to lesser known works. We pride ourselves on high standards of performance, by the Choir and St John’s Chamber Orchestra, and by the excellent professional soloists whom we engage. We are a friendly and welcoming Society. The Choir is an important part of the musical life of Great Missenden and the surrounding area.
Calling all singers
Singing with GMCS is enjoyable and rewarding. Performing with an orchestra and professional soloists in the lovely church of St Peter and St Paul to a large and appreciative audience is a pleasure not to be forgotten. We welcome new singers in all voices, with bursaries available for those aged 16-25. After attending a number of rehearsals we invite new members to a short informal audition with the Music Director. If you think you might like to join us, please contact our Secretary Suzanne Bryden on 01494 718521 (email: firstname.lastname@example.org). Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7.45 – 10 pm in the Oldham Hall in Great Missenden, except for May to August.
On 9th January 2017 we start rehearsing for our 150th concert performance which is to be the Bach B minor Mass on Saturday 29th April in St Mary’s Church in Amersham. We are seeking more singers for this concert whether or not you have sung it previously.
